WOW the weapons in the game are way too inaccurately portrayed. The first few rounds will be an exercise in patience, but once you get the hang of it, you'll come to love this unique gold-encrusted turd.

This game should be the worst design in modern memory, but it is stellar and enjoyable. I ended up 1-22, and I had an absolute blast. I once spent an entire siege battle walking towards the enemy walls playing the fife or advancing with my hands up in surrender and died time and time again. Sure, I shout expletives every now and then when I get hit and lose my last (or only) life, but then I'll snap off a quick shot and jump for joy when I score a kill. The community is wonderful, there are always games and I get totally immersed in the game. There are so many game modes to choose from and so many ways to play, but you NEED to check it out. The gameplay should be frustrating to the point of being unplayable, but it is the most fun I remember having in a long while. As of writing I have played 18 hours during the last week and I love this game with all my heart. You will hate this game when you first play, and the feeling will never go away. The maps are so large you will spend half the game running back to where a random bullet killed you, most classes are pointless, and cavalry has the steepest learning curve of any game I have ever played. The maps are so large you will spend half the game running back to where a random bullet killed you, most classes are pointless, The servers are constantly lagging, melee combat is choppy and imprecise, your gun is inaccurate as hell more than 5 feet away and is faster to scavenge a new weapon than reload, the physics are crude, the maps have no weight and the sound has much to be desired. Don't let either of these put you off though, Napoleonic Wars is a fantastic expansion that expands on the base game rather than raking in the cash for a few small features. You can still die with one hit from a blade which disrupts the flow somewhat and balance issues exist. However, while the battles are epic and feel much more organic than Warband, some of the frustrations of that game are still carried over. Acting more like a self-contained game, Napoleonic feels much more smoother than Warband and creates some epic battles as small groups of soldiers attempt to push their way through gun and cannon-fire to reach besieged castles and forts. However, while the battles are epic and feel Despite what it may seem, NW actually feels like a proper expansion rather than a mere re-skin of Warband. … Expandĭespite what it may seem, NW actually feels like a proper expansion rather than a mere re-skin of Warband.

The inclusion of such elements as Cannons, Buffs and Constructable defences adds many new layers to the game, I highly recommend this game for anyone interested in good multiplayer teamplay. Though some elements still need work on, moving around and melee can still feel like driving a shopping cart at times (though vastly improved on MM). The game's main strengths are in it's organised play, whether it is playing a lowly private in an epic 200 person line battle or playing with a small group of friends together on a public server, it is really like no other game. These were also my initial impressions when I first loaded up NW, though after a few weeks of playing I have to say that I couldn't have been more wrong in my opinion. The game's main I've been a fan of Mount & Blade for years and I have to admit that I was not a fan of Mount and Musket, the game felt too clunky, the player-base too elite and I found it more frustrating than fun.
